Job Summary

The National Account Director, Lead will be responsible for leading the National Account Directors, developing and implementing national account strategies, and driving revenue growth by building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients. This individual will build a strategic plan and execution development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop National Account Director (NAD) skills, business acumen, and succession plan by driving NS Pharma’s traits, values and processes.
  • Strong ability to inspire, coach and develop people.
  • Develop the commercial, Medicaid & Medicare payor strategy for the NAD team to execute.
  • Medical benefit portfolio management, lead the NAD influence of appropriately written commercial insurance coverage policy & PA Form development. Look to collaborate with medical benefit management companies and specialty contractors to minimize negative utilization interventions and margin erosion.
  • For pharmacy benefit portfolio management, lead the NAD influence of appropriate formulary & copay tier placement. Look to collaborate with pharmacy benefit management companies to minimize negative utilization interventions and margin erosion.
  • Explore the innovation of value-based messaging and contracting techniques, including H.E.O.R. approaches, that can enhance patient access and experience.
  • Work collaboratively to create and lead the development and execution of value message platforms for current and new products.
  • Develop innovative approaches to obtain and leverage product usage data, to provide deep customer insight into usage patterns for our, and competitive, products.
  • Develop, train and implement the necessary communication tools, reimbursement / formulary pull-through and quality initiative programs that support account teams efforts with key customers.
  • Manage Commercial & Medicaid contracted account management agencies to maximize the investment and access for NADs and our portfolio.
  • Collaborate with HR, finance, medical, patient services, marketing and operations and foster working partnerships in the development and implementation of novel tools & resources.
  • Leverage payor conference investment of time & resources designed to build & maintain NAD access to key customers that leads to appropriate product portfolio access.

Qualifications

  • Full functional knowledge of US Coverage & Reimbursement landscape for pharmaceutical products, including commercial, State and Federal payer programs, is required.
  • Experience leading a Market Access team, possibly in a relatively small organization, with successful new product launch experience in both medical & pharmacy benefit markets is highly preferred.
  • Experiences with rare / orphan and cell & gene therapy disease state areas that use infusion & injectable routes of administration is a strong plus.
  • Market analysis skills are required, and brand/market access marketing experience is valued.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a multi-cultural, global team environment as responsibilities include cross-functional collaboration with NS Pharma and Nippon Shinyaku (a parent in Japan) or vendors/contractors.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize.
  • Strong ability to use computer software such as; Microsoft Outlook Calendar, Excel, Power Point, Word, Web meeting software, smart phones etc.
  • Strong professional, organizational, communication and presentation skills. Demonstrated ability to build, inspire & lead teams.
  • Team player, flexible, ability to adapt to change, initiative & drive.
  • This is a Field-Based leadership role requiring an ability to commute to NS Pharma – Paramus NJ offices, company meeting locations, work with & coach direct reports and attend appropriate conferences & conventions as required.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree is required. Master’s degree in business or related area preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry, including 10+ years in brand/market access marketing and market access account management and leadership.
  • National account management & contracting experience is required.
